Lok Gathbandhan Party flays NDA govt for jump in inflation

Urban Mirror Correspondent

New Delhi, October 16 : The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) today assailed the NDA government of failing to control wholesale and retail inflation index which has badly hit the poor people in the country. The LGP said while wholesale price inflation (WPI) has risen to 5.1% during September 2018, the retail index was at 3.8%, which has once again exposed the poor performance of the government on economic front.

The LGP spokesman said here on Tuesday that there is consistent trend in rise in inflation with fuel prices going up to 16.7%. the spokesman said the NDA government recent announcement to reduce Rs 2.50 per litre in petrol and diesel prices followed by similar reduction in VAT by BJP-ruled states have failed to have any positive impact as the prices have again gone beyond Rs 80 per litre for petrol.
The spokesman said overall economic scenario is grim as the country is yet to come out of shock of ill-conceived demonetization and implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in a haphazard way.
The spokesman said with present state of inflation there is no possibility of its declining in next financial year and it would continue above 4%. Expressing concern over subdued growth in manufacturing, agriculture, employment generation and other sectors the spokesman said NDA government has pushed the country to abyss during the last four and half years in office and now misleading claims are being made for economic growth .
The spokesman said the BJP along with its allies rode to power making promises of “acche din” and relief from the corrupt UPA government, which too had pushed the country to morass during its 10-year dispensation. But the hapless people are still yearning for promised “good days” and solution to their perennial economic problems. The spokesman said the NDA government had in fact been a big failure on major issues which had long been confronting the nation. The BJP had promised job creation, inflation, end to corruption, bringing back black money, improving the sluggish economy, improving security on border but there is no change in the situation so far. On job creation reports from various sectors indicated that NDA government had received the worst rating as there was widespread disappointment among the jobless youth.
