BPCON 2022: Keep watch on your child’s blood pressure, suggest doctors

Dr. Aurn Kedia from Raipur said that it was possible to treat high blood pressure by increasing the amount of magnesium in the diet. Dr. ME Avlekar from Pune said that high blood pressure medicines should be taken in the evening as it increases their effect. Dr. Deepak Jumani, from Mumbai, said that high blood pressure drugs could also cause sex related weakness, so caution should be taken towards their consumption.

Lucknow, September 10: The medical experts assembled from various parts of the country to participate in three-day BPCON- 2022 conference today discussed in details about various medication methods to control hypertension in the patients. Even stress was laid on taking care of children who too have tendency to develop high blood pressure.
Delivering his lecture on the issue Dr. Vipul Kumar Gupta from Bathinda, talked about the treatment and use of some medicines which are prevalent at present. Dr. RK Gokharu from Ajmer discussed the treatment of blood pressure with heart diseases.
Indore-based Dr. AK Pancholia discussed about the American and European guidelines on the issue. Thereafter a seminar was held in which Dr. MN Singh, Dr. Shivendra Singh, Dr. Manish Agarwal, Dr. Bhashkar Ganguly, Dr. Vishwaunnadkat and Dr. Saurabh Srivastava discussed about the new medicines in controlling high blood pressure.

Dr. Srinivas Murthy from Bangalore, discussed how research was being promoted in this field in country. Dr. Prabhakar from Chennai, discussed about new the treatment of hypertension.
Dr. Divya Saxena highlighted about high blood pressure during pregnancy, she also told that it is important to identify high blood pressure in pregnancy on time and both mother and child could be saved.
Dr. Jayant Panda from Cuttack, talked about high blood pressure in children and Dr. Smita Bhatt from Bangalore told what medicines could be given for high blood pressure in lactating women. She also told that not all medicines are safe for lactating women. In such a situation, the selection of medicines should be done carefully.
Through his video presentation of Dr. Venkat S Ram from America, told what could be the side effect of uric acid in high blood pressure, He discussed reducing uric acid by changing the food system, he also told that animal protein intake should be minimum.
Dr. Mukhya Pran Prabhu from Bangalore, said that about 30% of the people in India were Salt sensitive, it is possible to treat high blood pressure by reducing the amount of salt in them.
There was a workshop on how to measure blood pressure at home in which Dr. Mohsin Aslam, Dr. Hasmukh Shah and Dr. Balkrishn Gupta suggested ways to measure blood pressure.

Another workshop discussed how to measure blood pressure on the walking, in which Dr. Arun Goel from Rishikesh and Dr. Snehlata Verma from Meerut, told people about how to measure this type of blood pressure.
