New Delhi, June 14: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) today criticised the Aam Admi Party-led government in Delhi for resorting to Dharna politics at the cost of sufferings of the people. The LGP said under AAP leadership the governance in Delhi has totally collapsed as most of the time ruling party leaders are in protest mode.

The spokesman of the LGP the protest at the residence of Lieutenant Governor’s office by the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his cabinet colleagues has brought Delhi’s administrative activities to standstill. The spokesman said with no solution insight to the row between the bureaucrats and political leadership following assault on Delhi’s chief secretary in February 2018, the Delhities have become victims of the tussle. The spokesman said water and power shortage has assumed serious dimension in some parts of Delhi but AAP leaders are more interested in dharna politics than solving the problems of the people. The spokesman said unfortunately with the continued row between AAP and BJP, the people are caught in a bind.

The spokesman said AAP government has also failed in providing corruption-free administration and serve the people honestly-a plank on which the party was voted to power in 2015. The spokesman said AAP has lost mandate because of poor performance during the last three years in Delhi. The spokesman said the chief minister, who has been mired in several controversies over the years, has in fact lost moral ground to continue on the post. The spokesman said the people of Delhi have suffered enough of shenanigans of the party and its leaders in the national capital with several of them facing corruption charges.

The spokesman said AAP, which rode to power on anti-corruption plank, has now been facing several corruption charges including money laundering case in connection with political funding.  The spokesperson said the Income Tax notice to AAP for Rs 30 crore donation is just a tip of the iceberg of corruption in the party. Pointing out that 15 of its MLAs have been arrested under different charges, the spokesperson said the people in Delhi are completely disenchanted and disillusioned with the ruling party and wanted fresh assembly election.

The spokesperson said that there are a large number of complaints against AAP for amassing huge donations, including overseas donations, through highly questionable means, which should be thoroughly and impartially probed. Pointing out that charges against AAP for collecting questionable donations from dubious sources are in circulation for a long time, the LGP said they needed to be investigated so that issue could reach a logical conclusion. The spokesperson said without political vendetta and prejudice the law enforcing agencies should undertake legal process against the AAP which has resorted to this illegal practice. The spokesperson said the LGP, dedicated to honesty and transparency in public life, has been fighting for the eradication of the use of huge money in politics without which the concept of good governance is far-fetched.
