New Delhi, September 17: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) said that NDA government’s Swachhata Abhiyan is a diversionary tactics to deflect the attention of the people from real issues of economic crisis, development and good governances on which the four-year record of this government is appalling. The LGP said no doubt clean and green environment is vital for the healthy life but in the absence of clean governance, corruption-free administration and honesty such exercise is meaningless and aimed at political publicity.
The spokesman said here on Monday that earlier in June the NDA government had started “Swacha Bharat†drive with lots of publicity with BJP governments in several states rushing with big budget advertisements drive. However so far the exercise has failed to yield positive results. The spokesman said despite laudatory comments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath on this “abhiyan†the ground realities are absolutely different. Even Lucknow and Varanasi continued to be dirtiest in the country. Pointing out that running schemes on paper, advertisements and big hoardings has become a vital ingredient of the BJP government, the spokesman said the people are now quite vigilant of these gimmicks.
The spokesman said without cleansing the government and getting rid it of rampant corruption, mal-functioning, the concept of clean environment is baseless as decades of loot, dishonesty and lack of transparency in governance have crashed the system. The spokesman said Swachatta abhiyan during the last few years has just proved photo opportunity for the BJP leaders. The spokesman said that “Swachchata Abhiyant†will not come about by sloganeering alone, as it requires honest, sincere committed governance. These efforts have to stem from moral courage. The spokesman said the ethical drive has been absent. The spokesman said the poor people are continuously fed with rhetoric of urban renaissance- a Smart City, amenities like clean drinking water, sanitation, toilets, infrastructure etc. The spokesman thus called upon the people to join LGP movement under the leadership of former Secretary Government of India Vijay Shankar Pandey to root out rampant corruption and ensure clean governance.
