Faizabad, June 26: The former Secretary Government of India and national president Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) Vijay Shankar Pandey today said that highly corrupt, inefficient and selfish political system was responsible for prevailing worst situation, poverty and backwardness of the country.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr Pandey said unless the country was freed from clutches of politics of caste, communalism, black money and mafia-politicians connection, there was no possibility of their welfare and all-round development. Mr Pandey, who also served as district magistrate of Faizabad, has decided to contest 2019 Lok Sabha election from this constituency.

Holding to corrupt political system responsible for the pitiable condition of the people, Mr Pandey said even after 70 years common man was struggling for basic facilities in his life. Mr Pandey questioned as to why the successive state and central governments failed to provide higher education system to all and why people are forced to given money to officers/employees to get their legitimate work done and become victim of dalas in the system. Mr Pandey said even for small ailment poor people are compelled to dispose of their land for treatment as the government had completely failed to make adequate arrangements for medical treatment of the people.  Mr Pandey only corrupt political leadership of the country was responsible for the plight of the people. He said the Constitution had given all the powers to elected representatives to run the government so they will have to take responsibility for the prevailing chaos and bad condition also.

Mr Pandey said after serving in the state and central government at the highest position for 38 years he was fully convinced that “neither there is shortage of funds in the country nor capacity, only there is lack of political will”. Mr Pandey further said “there is urgent need of honest, experienced and transparent political leadership” to take the country out of morass. Mr Pandey said had the political parties honestly did their job, the country would have joined the list of developed nations long back.         

Mr Pandey said just because of the worst condition in the country, some people who have worked in several top positions in the country, have veered round to the view that a concrete effort would have to be made to get rid of caste, communal, Mafiosi politics, use of black money and other evils crept into body politic of the nation over the years. He said this effort has resulted into launching of Lok Gathbandhan Party, which has been making efforts to present an honest, capable and transparent political alternative which could help in eliminating corruption, injustice, poverty, unemployment and other problems and ensure happy prosperous life to common man. Mr Pandey has thus appealed to the people to discard the political parties which have over the years exploited them and support the Lok Gathbandhan Party to pave way for development and honest governance.
