NDA raising directionless issues to shift focus from real economic crisis: Lok Gathbandhan Party

New Delhi, August 25: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) said today that in view of complete failure on economic front the NDA government has been desperately trying to shift narrative to directionless issues and sloganeering to mislead the people in the run up to 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The LGP said instead of talking about mess of past “60 years” the BJP-led NDA should convincingly explain what it has done during the last four years on economic and development front. The LGP said since the BJP has nothing positive to tell, it is raking up issues unconnected with the welfare of the people.

The spokesman of the party said here on Saturday that NDA’s story is the story of utter failure on economic front as the country has been passing through massive crisis, so there are desperate efforts to push these people’s issues under the carpet. The spokesman said BJP leaders are maintaining stoic silence on the performance of NDA and hunting to clutch emotive straw that could help them. Calling upon the people to be vigilant of the machination of the BJP, the spokesman said it is high time to evaluate the pro-poor performance of the NDA government and not sway away by just slogans and fake claims. The spokesman said four-year India’s economic growth story has been miserable, as it has not positively impacted the people across the social spectrum and across the country. The spokesman said 7.3% growth rate is minimal and not optimal, as it is not enough to generate jobs and profit and also lead to further investment.

The spokesman said while private investment has been a laggard, the public expenditure has sustained the economy these four years and the expectation that private investment would pick up has just remained expectation. Similarly while on export front there is no good news, the spokesman said imports were not good because of stagnation in the economic activities at home. For these reasons the BJP leaders, the spokesman said, are talking about making India “Vishwaguru” on spiritual front and not global economic superpower. The spokesman said while demonetisation has badly backfired, crony capitalism has assumed serious dimension at the cost poor people. The spokesman said instead of blame game it is high time for the NDA to present its four-year report card on development and economic front before the people and not gloss over real issues. the spokesman said the people should realise that bad economy is NDA’s Achilles Heel, hence the move to shift focus.
