New Delhi, August 30: The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) today said that report of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has badly exposed the tall claim of the NDA government about the success of the demonetisation of high value currency notes in November 2016. The LGP said with 99.3% scarped currency going back to banks, the NDA government’s assertion of fighting against black money though this process has proved wholly farce.
The spokesman of the party said here on Thursday that the RBI report has mentioned that of the total Rs 15.44 lakh crore invalid currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination Rs 15.3 lakh crore had returned to banks which amounted to 99.3%. The spokesman said with almost entire money in circulation coming back to banks it is amply clear that huge black money and terror money has been deposited. The spokesman said the RBI report has proved that entire NDA government exercise was futile and aimed at helping high and mighty people close to the NDA. The spokesman said more than bringing out black money it helped turning black money into white at the cost of massive loss to the Indian economy and death of at least 100 poor people who had queued up outside banks to convert their invalid notes. The spokesman said it was disastrous decision whose adverse impacts are still haunting the nation. The spokesman said the RBI claim that it has helped digitization in financial system is misplaced.
The spokesman said that there was deep conspiracy behind demonetization, which should be unearthed so that those responsible for this highly illogical and reckless decision could be punished. The spokesman that the BJP leadership knew well that the decision was not at all in the interest of the nation and was aimed at helping some high and mighty. The spokesman said in the absence of fool proof preparations and adequate safeguards in place, demonetization has badly affected the whole economy. The spokesman said demonetization decision, instead of hitting at black money and terror funding as claimed by the NDA government, has proved extremely harmful for the nation. The spokesman said NDA leadership and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) both are equally responsible for pushing the country to the brink of disaster and total monetary chaos. The LGP said unearthing fake currency through demonetization has simply turned out to be a big farce. The spokesman said while common man suffered a lot because of demonetization it helped those who had stashed ill-gotten money through corrupt means.
